Nostalgia kills.  You can have memories of the greatest times, the most ethereal experiences -- but at the end of the day they are just that, past occurrances trapped in the bottleneck between the past we want and the present reality we're faced with.

Note: the following convo only makes sense if you're reading Ulysses by James Joyce or if you appreciate conversations that are grossly out of context.

Draco Peregrine (5:26:40 PM): I dreamt this morning that I read chapter 5

just a lam (17:49:18): haha

Draco Peregrine (17:57:13): isn't it weird?

just a lam (17:57:31): that's so... bloomish

just a lam (17:57:33): or no

just a lam (17:57:39): thats more stephen ish

Draco Peregrine (17:58:14): how so?

Draco Peregrine (17:59:02): that's the second dream I've had about reading ulysses in a week

Draco Peregrine (17:59:07): last week I dreamt I read chapter 3

Draco Peregrine (17:59:13): on saturday morning

just a lam (17:59:18): whoa.

just a lam (17:59:23): clearly you think about this book too much

just a lam (17:59:25): unless...

just a lam (17:59:30): you are all the characters in the book!

Draco Peregrine (17:59:34): GASP

just a lam (17:59:35): (per c+p dream theory)

Draco Peregrine (17:59:46): I like kidneys that have an odour of urine!

just a lam (17:59:49): hahahaha

Draco Peregrine (17:59:52): AND I AM UNFAITHFUL!

just a lam (17:59:58): i am so taking that out of context

Draco Peregrine (17:59:58): I shall orgasm! WITH TWO DIFFERENT CHARACTERS!

Draco Peregrine (18:00:11): Aaaaand I am sacriligious!

Draco Peregrine (18:00:22): I AM MY FATHER AND MY SON! BIOLOGICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY!

Draco Peregrine (18:01:54): I ENJOY DEFECATING

just a lam (18:02:14): lol

just a lam (18:00:25): Draco Peregrine (17:59:46): I like kidneys that have an odour of urine!
Draco Peregrine (17:59:58):
I shall orgasm! WITH TWO DIFFERENT CHARACTERS!

Peeweefirebrand (18:01:42):

just a lam (18:02:40): sorry, i had to do that

Draco Peregrine (18:02:57): ...

just a lam (18:03:22): dont worry i explained to her that it comes out of ulysses

Draco Peregrine (18:03:45): I AM ALSO APPARENTLY GREAT AT SEX! AND ENJOYED MY GREATNESS IN SEX.

just a lam (18:04:09): okay.  you're taking that one on your own.

Draco Peregrine (18:07:02): :P

just a lam (18:08:38): just a lam (18:08:03): Draco Peregrine (18:03:45): I AM ALSO APPARENTLY GREAT AT SEX! AND ENJOYED MY GREATNESS IN SEX.
Peeweefirebrand (18:08:16):

Recent discoveries:

- Iced chai at Starbucks. Since I tried it during a Yale interview Thursday -- my Yale interviewer insisted on buying me a drink, he wouldn't let me pay -- I've been hooked on the taste.  Less caffeine than a frapp, and less pricy. (sorry Christie... although I do intend to go to Peet's when I get the more hardcore coffee cravings)

- Internet radio.  Just had the urge to play it Friday even though I haven't listened to it since I worked at my dad's real estate office two summers ago... but it's cool now.  Streaming, so you don't keep hearing the same stuff out of your song collection, and it's varied enough to keep you awake, but w/ far less commercials than regular radio.

- American Airlines.  Actually this doesn't really count until I take it in March, but since Ralph has brainwashed me and I didn't like United last time I took it, I'm going to try out AA on my flight to DC in March and see how I like them.  Taking a 737-800 on my red-eye flight from LAX to Dulles (w/ video, not that that matters since I'll be sleeping anyway) and then two MD-80s on my flight back from Dulles to SJC via a transfer in Dallas.

I think one of the things I'm most grateful for everyday is that I've been given the opportunity to be part of the 1% of the world that has a college education -- meaning 99% doesn't have one or never will.  Whatever we think with our AP classes and test scores and whatnot, we're inevitably going to go to college (sure, not all to Harvard, but we'll get some kind of degree) and inevitably going to be doing something with our lives somewhere.

If nothing else keeps you (the reader) going right now, I hope that does.
